Cannot log into admin after changing hosting providers

I believe I have followed all instructions I found in the forum about importing the database, copying all files over, changing permissions and updating the connection file.

Since I want to use the same admin login info I have not changed the wa_settings in the database. When I try to log in with the username and password (I can see them in phpAdmin) I am being told the username and password are incorrect. This is my first time trying to move a database from one server to another and I feel like a fish out of water. Do you have any suggestions what I could have done wrong or missed?

As always, your help is greatly appreciated.

I'll need to troubleshoot directly, see the private message section.

Something is wrong with the database connection. When I turn on error reporting, it sows the error:
Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /home1/chselfst/public_html/PhotoGalleries/admin_gallery/global.php on line 30

this is most likely due to the fact that your using the IP address to access the site, and the Data Base server is not allowing outside access. I think this should probably fix itself once the DNS record propagates and you can use the domain name.
