CDONTS to CDOSYS - DW8 problems but no other way to change scripts

CDONTS to CDOSYS - DW8 problems but no other way to change scripts

Our server provider just turned off CDONTS on our server and todl us we'd have to change to CDOSYS.
We have DW8 installed on Win 8.1 Pro, but when we install the old UE extension, in an attempt to change the scripting language, we are receiving all kinds of errors including...

The WA_AddForm script does not define the findServerBehaviour function
The WA_EditAlert script does not define the findServerBehaviour function
The WA_MementoNotify script does not define the findServerBehaviour function
The WA_Preferences script does not define the findServerBehaviour function
...and so on.

When we eventually OK all of these, we then get..

JavaScript error while loading WA Universal Email.htm:
Unable to open script file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8\Configuration\ServerBehaviours|ASP_VBS\configuration\Shared|Common\Scripts\dwscripts.js" (error 3).

...and we can't open the UE dialog box to make the changes required.

How do we resolve this, or is there an easier way to update the UE script to use CDOSYS instead of CDONTS?

We are having to use DW8 because these sites were created in Classic ASP so we can't use the latest UE behaviour in DWCC2014.

Hope you can help. Thank you.

Make sure that you have the DW 8.0.2 update installed. this should be installed before installing any of the extensions. if you don't have that update installed, uninstall the extensions, instal the update, then reinstall the extensions.

the update is available for download from the Adobe site from this page:
https://www.adobe.com/support/dreamweaver/downloads_updaters.html

more information about the updates is here:
http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/dreamweaver/dw8/releasenotes.html

Just FYI, Note the System requirements for DW 8, you may need to run DW 8 in compatibility mode on Windows 8.1:
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Dreamweaver 8 supports Windows® 2000, Windows XP and Macintosh Mac OS® X 10.3 and 10.4. Starting with this release, however, Dreamweaver no longer supports Windows 98, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server, or Macintosh OS 10.2.x or earlier.

Complete product system requirements and recommendations are available at www.adobe.com/go/sysreqs.

This product contains activation. An Internet connection is required to complete activation.
