Shipping and Tax in cart object vs Checkout Wizard settings

In the eCart 6 Checkout Wizard under the Shipping tab, can I include the WA_eCart_DisplayMoney($eCart1, $eCart1->GetShipping()); into the form for base shipping? It's calculated already on the cart page.

By the way, what happened to the PayPal Standard option that I've used for years.

Thanks

If you already have shipping rules in place, you don't need to set them up in the wizard. Don't set anything on the shipping tab of the wizard, and it will use your existing rules.

PayPal standard is no longer supported in eCart. Instead you should Express Checkout, this offers the same experience as PayPal standard, it is still a free option, but is a real time checkout system unlike PayPal standard which relied IPN to notify of the transaction status.

Thanks Jason,

I understand now accept for the checkbox. Should I check the box "Include shipping fields on the checkout page"? I want it to show my current shipping rule on the checkout page, but not generate new ones. Does this matter?

As for the PayPal Standard, just for the record, in my case I have some extensive IPNs that trigger a few different things to happen so that's why I was trying to go that route. I'm sure that once I figure out the Express Checkout, it will offer me those same tools that I had to build into my IPNs (update database after confirmation, send out emails, etc.).

Thanks again,
TroyD

if you want to have form fields to enter the shipping address, check that box, it doesn't have anything to do with the shipping rules.

as for express checkout, it is a real time system, so does not need an IPN page, sending the email and saving to the database can happen on the same pages that processes the transaction, is the result is known in real time.

as for saving order to the database and sending emails, those can be configured in the checkout wizard.
