Product access disappears (sometimes) on membership site

Hi,

This is the site www.dealearning.co.uk. It's a training portal for DEA's here in the UK. I built the site using all WA extensions and created the eCommerce with eCart. I had to change things manually a bit to customise it but in a nutshell....

The student creates an account and then chooses one or more courses. This places the courses in the cart. They then purchase the course(s) via PayPal express checkout. On coming back to the site the course is added to the users account. When the user looks into his/her profile they see a list of courses that they have purchased and a link to that course.

The problem is that on numerous occasions the courses disappear from the members area. I then get an email asking where the course has gone! I then go into the admin area where I can add courses manually which I do but it's not an ideal solution and my client is getting a bit hacked off.

I'm not sure what to attach and show you so I'll leave it at that and await your advice.

Thank you,

John

I'll need to be able to see the problem happening in order to troubleshoot.

The next time it happens, report back with the student login so I can look at the account. I'l also need FTP access to troubleshoot the files

I'm so sorry for the delay in replying Jason. I was waiting for an email from the forum which didn't arrive. It was only by checking tonight that I've seen your reply.

I've added all the info in the private message section.

Ok will do. Trouble is when I hear the students are already revolting! :-)

yeah, i understand that, but it is not possible to trouble shoot a problem without being able to see it.

So, i echo'd the SQL for the courses to the page, the ID for that user is 1823

Looking in the oderoptions table, there is no record for that user:
SELECT * FROM orderoptions WHERE FKUSerID = 1823

Looking at your checkout pages, I see that you have a store order details behavior on the pp_confirm page to save the course to the order options table, but that behavior does not exist on the regular confirm page.

most likely, the people that are reporting the problem are checking out using the Direct checkout method and entering the CC details on your site which goes through the confirm page.

the people not having the problem are using the PayPal express checkout option which goes through the pp_confirm page..

Wow. OK I'll check that out but I thought I only had PayPal payment set up. Anyway I'll have a good look at it over the weekend.

have a good one yourself Jason. Speak again Monday probably.

You do have paypal set up

you are using Paypal Pro which is 2 services:

Direct Checkout
Express Checkout.

The express checkout path is set to save to save the order details to the orderoptions table, the direct Checkout path is not.
