PayPal Direct Payment - Receipt ID

The PayPal "Notification of payment received" email includes the buyer's Receipt ID and says to "retain it for your records so that you will be able to reference this transaction for customer service."

I would like to store the Receipt ID and save it with the transaction.

Does eCart's Local Checkout for PayPal Direct Payment return the Receipt ID? If so, how do you access it?

I added the eCart->Checkout->Local checkout results to the bindings tab. It returns a Transaction ID after a successful transaction.

Transaction ID does not match the Receipt ID and the Transaction ID is not included in the "Notification of payment received" email.

Thanks,
Allyn

I have looked around a bit and searched through the integration guide and cannot find this value in the available values that are returned for a transaction.

In reading on the forums it seems that this is an internal identifier for PayPal and has no relation to the other information for the transaction. To help keep track of the orders you can use the invoice id and also the custom field. The values you set for these will be returned from PayPal the same as you passed them.

Thanks for looking into the Receipt ID. It's weird they would say "retain it for your records so that you will be able to reference this transaction for customer service." and it's not related to the transaction, but I've seen stranger things.

It does seem odd that it would be recorded on PayPal's end with this id but not passed to you in any way. The forum post that I read the info in was posted from a PayPal moderator, so I assume it is correct. Since I also could not find any reference to this in any of the integration guides this seems to confirm the result.
