Using the Sucasa designs

Using the Sucasa designs

I am almost afraid to post this, as I fear it may come under the "bleedin' obvious" category; but here goes:

I purchased some designs (layout not full sites) from Sucasa - specifically Midnight and Middle Earth.

Using Sculptor 2.04, Dreamweaver CS4,

I can open the (previously imported) designs in File; New Css Sculptor Page and select either in Layout and produce a page that has one or elements of the design - but not much else besides. Basically the core Div's.
Now there are some Photoshop and one Fireworks graphics files included, which essentially display the design I looked at in Sucasa.

Why does the page created in Sculptor, not have any graphical elements included?

I purchased and watched (twice) Mark's great CSS Design starter tutorials; so am wondering if I need to go through the rather lengthy process of all those slices and dices he does in the videos?

You should be able to import the layout in CSS Sculptor and and create a new page from that layout including all of the images and structure. I'm including a screen shot of the result I get from importing the Middle Earth layout and creating a page from it.

What is the layout you are having trouble with specifically and what steps did you take when importing the layout and creating a page?

I followed the steps in the IMPORT box - and it imported the design OK.

Then Insert - new Sculptor page - choose Midnight from the list of layouts

have done it several times to check.

This is what I get (web1.jpg) - compare to the file content.png in the design folder

I did an import of this layout and the result I get in DW looks very close to the included png. The only thing different is the content that has been added to the sample pic.

When I added this all I did was bring up the CSS Sculptor Layout Manager and import. I then pointed to the zip file, it was named 87.zip. When I imported it I could then see the layout in the list of available layouts. I then created a new CSS Sculptor page from this layout and got the result I was expecting. I'm including a screen shot of what I got.

Did you get the correct result with the Middle Earth preset?

OK,
as I have CS4, I have to use "Preset Manager" to import anything (discovered this when I went looking for Layout manager...)

SO: Insert-Webassist-Preset Manager.
choose Import
choose Product: CSS Sculptor
choose 87.zip
midnight now shows as an option in the layout list.
Removed both previous imports first.

it now gives me some of the missing design elements. (so removing and re-importing helped)
the screen grab shows what I get - am guessing this is now correct?

It looks like you are now getting a good result. This is about the same that I got. I apologize for not mentioning the presets manager and just referring to the layout manager, the preset manager is the newer one that is taking over for the layout manager.
