Filter One Recordset with a Different Recordset

Filter One Recordset with a Different Recordset

Building a blog with PowerCMS.

I have added a search box that searches the contents table where the ContentRefID is Content; however in the Results Page I want to display the Blog Titles for that ContentRefID.

I have set up to separate recordsets (one for Titles and One for Content), and the Title and Content for a post share the same ContentPageSetRecord value. I need to pull from the Title recordset based on the ContentPageSetRecord value from the Content recordset.

How do I filter the Title recordset? The Content recordset is created first.

Thanks,

Mike

The Nested Recordset tutorial uses this technique, it should give you the info you need:

the zip file contains 2 presets.

you need to extract the contents of the main data-bridge-nested-recordset-display.zip file to import the menu_categories.zip preset and the menu_items.zip preset files.

Have the page coded.

It returns two rows of the same data --the second set info on the first line should be the second row of data, Not sure if I have the Repeat region code properly placed.

Link and login in PM.

You are using a static recordset inside the loop, you have not set the recordset to use the value from the first query.

If you revisit the tutorial, you will see that the second query has is set to filter using one of the columns from the first query, on your page, you are just using a completely static recordset:

SELECT ContentID, ContentDate, ContentRefID, ContentValue, ContentPageSetOrder FROM pcms2_contents WHERE ContentRefID = 'BlogPostTitle' AND ContentPageSetOrder > 0 ORDER BY ContentPageSetOrder DESC
