Removing KFM tables from the Powerstore database

I am pretty sure I've asked this question before in a webinar, IM or on the forum but can't seem to find it and don't recall the answer, so sorry for the redundancy.

Is it safe to remove the KFM_* tables that are created when you install Powerstore? I don't believe they are used when adding products during browsing/adding images or for the galleries. I think they'd only be used if you added a File Manager function to one of the forms using Data Assist or another extension right?

The only files in the tables seem like defaults such as the kfm_files table: CMSedit.png, boxshots.png, default-product_thumb.png

I'm going to export the tables to my local machine. Drop the tables and see if it makes a difference.
However I'd like official clarification from WA in case there's something in the bowels of code I'm missing.

The KFM tables are used by the File Manager that is accessed through the image tool in an HTML Editor instance.

for example, on the Products Long Description field, click the image tool, then browse the server to open the File Manager.

If the tables don't exist, they will be created by the file manager.

So, yes, it is safe to delete them, but don't expect them to stay deleted.

Thanks Jason for confirming.

It's not a huge deal whether they are there or not. I am just adding a lot of new tables to the database and since there are so many it's just extra clutter. I'll remove them for now so they are out of the way while I'm working and if they come back later they are either needed or at any rate wont hurt anything.

Thanks again!
