User authentication with MySQLi Server Behaviors

To confirm, re the tutorial just released with the above name:

Parts of our site use pages DataAssist, and thus the deprecated MySQL. Nonetheless, we can build user authentication pages - and also restrict access to pages - using the MySQLi extension, if these are separate pages.

May I check, is this correct?

To check further, my fairly quick reading of the named tutorial suggests that: I need at least three parts in the tutorial, to user authenticate and restrict access. Namely:

• Add MySQLi recordset
• MySQLi Log In User
• MySQLi Restrict Access to Page

Other elements may be useful, such as Logout. But the three above are required to user authenticate and to restrict access.

Again, may I check, is this correct?

As always, much thanks. And especially thanks for the new MySQLi extension and the help to get going with it, leading to all the tools updated.

Yes, you can use the MySQLi extension to add user authentication to pages that are created using Dat Bridge.

User Authentication does not require a recordset.

you only need to add the Login behavior to the page with the login form, then add access restriction to the pages that should be restricted
