Your PHP Server doesn't have the MySQLi module loaded

I've created a MySQL connection to a new test server and am getting an error. The message reads "Your PHP Server doesn't have the MySQLi module loaded". I've not purchased any MySQLi upgrades yet. Please advise what might be causing this error and how to eliminate this.

The error message is coming up in Dreamweaver. I have created a simple php page just to test the server setup. The database is hosted on Amazon's cloud platform. I have not yet uploaded the site.

I have updated the eCart to v 6.08

locate the users configuration folder, for help with that, see the following page:

in configuration folder go to:
Configuration/Connections/Scripts/PHP_MySQL/

in that folder delete the mysql.php file.

I've just tried that but that does not seem to resolve the problem.

reset the workspace layout:
go to Window -> Work Space layout -> Reset '<your layout name>'

and Delete the Dreamweaver Cache file from the users configuration folder:

I've tried what you've suggested. I've even removed extensions, reinstalled them and removed with WinFileCache file. Still getting the same error.
