CMS with MySQLi

Hello,
Will this be coming soon? Tried a new install using a MySQLi database connection but it was not recognized in the PowerCMS extension.

Yes, we are working upgrading Design Extender's Power CMS, and Data Bridge to be compatible with MySQLi. I do not have a solid time from when that will be available though.

I believe that the latest version of Design Extender (1.2.0) should have addressed this issue but it still wont recognize a MySQLi database connection.

Design Extender and Data Bridge have not been updated to support mySQLi yet. Just eCart so far.

We hope to have an upgrade for Data Bridge available this quarter to support MySQLi, we will then be working Design Extender.

MySQLi

Will there be an easy way to convert existing MySQL databases built using PowerCMS to MySQLi databases? I'd hate to spend lots of time on my new CMS site I am building and then have to start from scratch when the update comes out. Any suggestions?

We are looking into the possibility of creating a conversion tool, but I can't say for certain one way or another.

you won't need to do anything with the Database, that won't change, only the code that connects to the database.

it's too early to tell what the workflow will be.
