Does PayPal Express return the customers telephone number to eCart

If a customer uses the paypal credit card form rather than signing in, does paypal return the customers contact telephone number.
If so, its not working for me, I've tried entering my credit card details into PayPal including my telephone number. On the website confirm page I have the following but nothing shows

yes, the phone number should be returned and saved to a session named:
eCartCheckoutForm_phone

HINT: if you want to see a listing of all sessions that are set, use the following code:
<pre><?php @session_start(); var_dump($_SESSION); ?></pre>

that will write all sessions to the page, including the name and value, you can use that to find the session name for a particular variable.

I implemented the code, however the phone number was not passed from PayPal, I'll look further into it

Sorted it out, the option for requesting the phone number was turned off in PayPal as per their recommendation.
I selected phone optional and the phone number is passed back to our site
