PowerMessenger

Does the search function in PowerMessenger have a wild card character when searching for users?

No, there is not a wild card character for the search.

the search uses includes though, so there is a wild card built in.

if you search the email address for:
google.com

as an example, it will return all addresses where the domain is google.com

Thanks for the response Jason,

I tried to search gmail.com in the user search function. It returned no results in the search. I tried this with my tool and my clients with the same results.

P.S. we both have users with the gmail.com address :)

Sorry, I was mistaken, the email search use Begins With. So if you search for:
johndoe

it will return any emails where the username is johndoe, for example:
johndoe@yahoo.com
johndoe@gmail.com

if you wish to change that, you can edit the admin_pom/users_results.php page, and change:

$WADbSearch1->addComparison("UserEmail","".((isset($_GET["S_UserEmail"]))?$_GET["S_UserEmail"]:"") ."","AND","Begins With",0);

to:
$WADbSearch1->addComparison("UserEmail","".((isset($_GET["S_UserEmail"]))?$_GET["S_UserEmail"]:"") ."","AND","Includes",0);
