Will it run on my configuration

Hi, first can I say I am an amateur programmer running a number of sites under php, so the notice of mysqli behaviors came as a surprise.

I have a VPS with WebFusion running the following
php 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.24,
mysql 5.1.69-0ubuntu0.10.04.1 and
php5-mysql 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.24

I am using Dreamweaver 5.5 and cannot afford to move to CC.

The new mysqli behaviors extension looks interesting and in due course I guess I'll need to move to mysqli in any event so might as well start now but would appreciate to know if my set up will reun it all.

In addition what is going to happen please with other extensions I have installed already - do they write in mysql or mysqli? Thanks

Thanks

MySQLi requires PHP 5.2 or greater.

one of your site is running 5.1, it will not work there.

The other WebAssist extensions have not yet been updated to be compatible with MySQLi, we will be working on upgrading those extensions next to make them MySQLi compatible.

Jason thanks,

The server is running php is 5.3.2 with mysql version 5.1.69 does this make a difference to your reply?

If I may also ask, in transitioning from mysql to mysqli does the whole website have to be one or the other, i.e could one page be mysql and another mysqli?

Thnaks

As long as the PHP version is 5.2 or greater, the MySQLi extensions will be fine.

Yes, you can use both MySQL and MySQLi in the same site.
