I now get the error message Unable to open script file C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS6\Configuration\Shared\Web Assist\Library\WA_Configuration.js When I check the path There is no Web Assist directory let alone a Library sub Directory or js file. Can you help as I can't get any Web Assist extensions working?

Forget this query!

It's working OK now - Still can't see that directory though!

Glad to hear it is working.

There are 2 configuration folders, the one in the Program Files path referenced in the error. If files don't exist there, it looks in the users configuration folder.

see this page for details on locating the users configuration folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS6\Configuration\Shared\Web Assist\Library\WA_Configuration.js (error 3)

I have followed your process as per: http://www.webassist.com/tutorials/Common-installation-issues

Please see attached for the range of errors I get.

recreate the users configuration folder as outlined in step 12 of the Adobe troubleshooting guide:
http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/troubleshoot-javascript-errors-dreamweaver-cs4.html#main_user_config

After recreating the configuration folder, open DW go to Commands -> Manage Extensions to open the extension manager, then close DW.

In the extension manager, uninstall each extension, then use the install button to browse to the extension MXP files and reinstall them.

After installing the extensions in the Extension manager, open DW to start the WebAssist Installer.

If the WebAssist installer does not open automatically, open a PHP page to launch it. When the WebAssist installer completes, make sure to restart DW.

DW uninstall/Reinstall

Thanks Jason,

I did all you noted above without success.

I just went ahead an uninstalled the WA extensions. Then uninstalled DW. Then deleted the DW CS6 files from my C-drive as it was still resident there. And then I reinstalled DW.

That seems to have resolved the problem completely.

Design Extender and Data Bridge work fine but eCart and Web Tools still have problems. I suspect that the issue is with an option to "Replace Newer Version Files" which comes up during the extension installation process. To date I have said "No" to this option. Perhaps I should have said "Yes". What say you?

What version of eCart are you installing?

If you are installing eCart 5, that needs to be installed before installing the other extensions.

If you are installing eCart 6, then you can answer yes to all for the newer files.
