Adobe add-on: Server Behavior & Database

Adobe is showing a DW CC Add-on (released less than a month ago, end of May) – Server Behavior & Database Components.

Should we begin using that, instead of the Deprecated extension, which is currently necessary for our much-valued WA tools?

Presumably there are issues of compatibility between DataAssist and this recently released Add-on. Or perhaps, this is good stuff and we can get perhaps somewhat better outcomes with the new add-on?

Your guidance is much appreciated, and essential. Cannot afford to have the DW install fouled up - need it for ongoing client commitments of course! (And the damned new Add-on tried to install itself, simply by being so-called Acquired in the web interface … apparently failed, though I am concerned.)

Thanks as always, David

Where are you seeing this add-on? I am not seeing it in the Creative Aloud Application Manager?

What is your OS?

I see what you mean, the one they made available ion the Exchange:

https://creative.adobe.com/addons/products/1315

I just installed this on my system, and it is just a repackaging of the Deprecated server behaviors extension that was packaged with DW CC.

They have just released DW CC 2014 and in that version are no longer adding the extension file int the application folder, but having you install it from the exchange. It is the same version though.

Thanks so much, Jason Sorry to be away for a bit, so failing to find your first.

Sp, sounds like: No need to uninstall Deprecated, then re-install the Add-on. Unless, I suppose, the DW CC 2014 somehow might need it.

Here I go, to put in DW CC 2014. Let's see what gives with it.

make sure that you update the Extension manager also.

you need to update the extension manager in order to manage the DW CC 2014 extensions.
