Cannot insert record into database (mysql or mysqli way)

Hi,

I'm trying to simply add a record to a database table. No matter whether I use the mySQL method (dataAssist) or the new mySQLi method I cannot get the record to insert. I have no errors showing in the code. The record does not insert and the page is not redirected to the thank-you.php page.

I have updated all current extensions before installing the new mySQLi extension.

I've attached a zip file containing all of the code along with the connection file and webassist folder. Any help is appreciated.

Try using a different trigger such as Any Form Post

Changing the trigger to 'Any form post' worked. I've now modified the page to include server validation to check that the email address hasn't already been registered in the database before inserting the record. This seems to only work once the form has been submitted once - by that I mean opening the browser fresh (without a session variable being set) allows me to enter an email address that I know is already in the database and the form submits. If I then go back to the index.php and try and enter that same email address the validation works, but once I close the browser I can enter the email address again resulting in duplicate entries. In the Unique Database value validation, change the ID value from the UserID session to 0.
