I need 10-20 minutes on the phone as im having setup issues due to lack of ecart 5.07 guides. I keep getting into tutorials and ending up needing ecart6 so if you can point me at an A-Z video tutorial set only using ecart5 and extensions (
Dynamic Suite -
eCart 5,
DataAssist 2,
Universal Email 4,
SecurityAssist,
HTML Editor,)
on dreamweaver cs6 Ill take it but i have bad eyes and prefer solid video tutorials over reading through 10 pages of info if possible. Otherwise I would need a brief call to ask list of questions. Thaks Saul Casdin P- 310-430-6097
*update - Please tell me the best time for you to do this and ill be prepared and make myself available if I have a heads up prior to call. Thanks

We don't have tutorials specific to eCart 5, but the basic operation in eCart 5 versus eCart 6 is the same.

The basic gist of using ecart is:

- Create the product catalog pages.
- Create the eCart object
- Add the Add to Cart button behavior to the catalog pages
- Create a cart display page using the Cart Display Manager.
- Run the Checkout wizard to create the checkout pages.

The interfaces in eCart 5 may be slightly different than in eCart 6, but the basic functionality is the same.

If you have questions, your best bet is to ask them here. IF need be, I can call tomorrow afternoon, but asking questions here would be quickest.

The difference between cart weever and eCart is cart weever is a prebuilt commerce solution, whereas eCart is a tool to create the shopping cart functionality.

Cart weever is already pre built php pages.

eCart is a tool used to create a specific part of the project (the shopping cart).

It sounds like The linda.com videos you are referring are not based on creating an eCommerce solution, but using a solution that has already been built.

we Also offer Power Store which is a prebuilt solution and contains the admin pages already. eCart was used to build power store, so was Security Assist, and Data Assist (they where used for crating the admin functionality).

Data Bridge is the tool that you use to create the Catalogue and product admin pages. see this tutorial for details on creating the Catalog and product admin pages:
http://www.webassist.com/tutorials/Create-a-product-catalog-II-eCommerce-Series

after creating the catalog and admin pages, you can add the eCart add to cart functionality:
http://www.webassist.com/tutorials/Add-a-shopping-cart-II-eCommerce-Series

If you arent seeing the pages after running the wizard, it sounds like you do not have your site defined correctly. See this tutorial for details:
