SecurityAssist user management...

SecurityAssist user management...

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if you have a solution for using tables or referenced files to manage the access rather than just helpergroupsrulesphp.php.
The reason I'm asking is applications that manage existing users allow user addition and removal, and securityassist will not be conscious of those users not added to helpergroupsrulesphp.php. It seems to add or remove a user to page access you have to re-open securityassist or edit the file directly.
If the table could be extended or another added to reference a users "level of access" or any "groups belonging to" etc.. the application will always be aware of current users.

Just seems to be inadequate for sites that needs to add and remove users regularly.

Thanks,

Tony

For what you are describing, you should be using user level access, see the following tutorial:

Looks like that'll work ;)
Tutorial seems to have "parent groups" hard coded into the script via securityassist, but then according to the users
"access level" in the table it will reference those groups....
Did I miss the "access level" column in the extension's pre-built table??... if it's not there it should be!

Jason, you are most certainly WebAssist's MVP in service and tech support!

Thanks,

Tony

UPDATE:
is the UserVerificationCode column used as the "access level"... just wondering

If you used the Power Store, or Power CMS table presets, there is a column for UserGroupID

if you used the Simple registration, there is no User Group column as it is intended for a simplistic registration system without the concept of User Groups.

you can always edit the table and add a user group column if you need one and it does not exist.

the application presets are not intended as a finished project, they are intended as a starting point.

the UserVerificationCode column is intended for use with double opt in registration:
