After Adding "add to cart" button how do you recover page formatting

After Adding "add to cart" button how do you recover page formatting

Hi Jason,

Hoping you could help here. I managed to add a "add to cart" button in the products "results" page. The cart works fine and after some tweaking it adds products nicely in conjunction with "details" page.

However every time I try to recover the page format for the results section problems happen. I am hoping you have a tutorial regarding the results page on the formatting issues that can occur.

Or are there certain sections that need to be removed from the results page before I can go further?

Here is a link to my test site and the pages are attached.

http://dev.dawsontele.com/products/phones_results.php

You can see the ul li is showing the dots. I tried simply removing the reference to "form" in the css but then the cart stopped working. This also happened when I tried to simply change the old "form" tag that seems to wrap everything but it also killed the cart function. I read somewhere that the spinning icon between pages was snot supposed to be active for the cart.

Or do I have to strip the Web assist formatting out and start from scratch?

Any help would be appreciated.

The only section that needs to be removed before adding the add to cart button is the the Form that the Data Assist wizard creates on the results page.

I dont really have a way to troubleshoot the formatting issue you report, I would need to be able to see a before and after copy of the page in the browser in order to tell what CSS is being removed.

see this tutorial for details on creating the catalog:

Hi Jason,

Thanks for that, I've gone through those tutorials already. Before the add to cart button is added and the cart functionality this is what the page looks like.

http://dev.dawsontele.com/products/phones_results_bk.php?pageNum_WADAphones=1 (attached is the file)

I did go through and try to re-establish some of the css so that it didn't have to have the reference tot he form.

eg.

form.Standout_Default fieldset.Standout_Default {
background-color: #8C8C8C;
padding: 10px 5px 10px 10px;
margin: 5px 5px 50px 10px;
clear: both;
border-right-width: 0;
border-bottom-width: 0;
border-left-width: 0;
}
/* to compensate for add to cart button within results page */

.Standout_Default fieldset.Standout_Default {
background-color: #8C8C8C;
padding: 10px 5px 10px 10px;
margin: 5px 5px 50px 10px;
clear: both;
border-right-width: 0;
border-bottom-width: 0;
border-left-width: 0;

but it got me into trouble with the cart functionality. I'll keeo looking for a solution.
