MySQL Error#: 2002 Dreamweaver CS5

HI

Never had this problum before so not sure why now.

MySQL Error#:2002

A connection attempt faild because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection faild because connected host has failed to respond

I have also tried to uninstall and reinstall xampp but still the same

Any help please?

first double check that the xampp service is running and that you can access phpMyAdmin form the xampp start page.

if you can access phpMyAdmin from the xampp start page, double check the site settings to make sure the testing server is set correctly to connect to your local xampp server.

also, double check that the connection is using the localhost address for the xampp MySQL server.

Same problem

i have same issue when trying to use Dreamweaver to build a web app trying to connect to localhost MySQL database

I get MySQL Error#: 2002

A connection attempt failed because the connected party not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond

There is nothing wrong with MySQL as I able to connect to it with an other app with no issue like HeidiSQL, but will not work on Dreamweaver

Specs
Dreamweaver CS6, fully up to date
Windows 10, fully up to date
XAMPP Control Panel v3.2.1
root username : root
password: not password
username : full access
port 3306

XAMPP is running
I can connect to phpMyAdmin via XAMPP

For the record I am using a shared remote server MySQL Host to develop, but connection is slow so why I am trying so hard to get localhost MySQL to work

Please help

It could be an issue with your local site definition. Can you send me a screen shot of your local testing server settings from your dreamweaver site definition? I'll see if I can spot the problem.
