Capabilities of Google Maps

Capabilities of Google Maps

I might have misunderstood what Pro Maps for Google could do.

I have a db of locations I want to plot on a map. The user will select which region they want to show on the map. Or even drill down to a specific one location restaurant.

Based on the users search selection the map would read from the recordset the locations and plot it on the map.

I'm not seeing how to do this dynamically? It appears I have to prespecify all the locations even if they are in a db but I can't dynamically display a location based on a random search or request.

Is this true? Did I misunderstand or misread how Pro Maps should work?

Please help,

Terry

If you have a recordset created on the page before loading the pro Maps wizard, you can Click on the Lightning bolt next to the address fields and bind them to the correctponding Recordset Column.

From the Help Documentation at:
index.htm

in the Using Pro Map[s For Google -> Step 2: Entering Address or Coordinates section

Show multiple: Enables using an available recordset on the page to return location information for the given listing. Use the data bindings for each location element to map database columns from the recordset selected.

sorry I jumped the gun

I didn't dig deep enough and play around before I sent the post. Sorry. I'm getting a better handle on it now.
