API keys or not blocked by Google

Hi folks, I keep getting this error: Google has disabled use of the Maps API for this application. The provided key is not a valid Google API Key, or it is not authorized for the Google Maps Javascript API v3 on this site. If you are the owner of this application, you can learn about obtaining a valid key here: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/tutorial#api_key

I have created an API for the websites where I'm inserting a Map. I tried it without an API as well, but it did not work with the same error. If you create an API, do you need to allow billing. These are small impact sites and I don't need to track info.

in the google api manager, go to the services tab and enable the maps v3 API.

the screen shoot showing the API key registration shows the key is registered for:

*.heavy-construction.us

so accessing the page with out www will not work, you need to use the www address:
http://www.heavy-construction.us/location.html

On the page, i see a div for the wagmp_map_3
<div id="wagmp_map_3" style="width: 300px; height: 300px;"></div>

but the coresponding wagmp_map_3.js file is not uploaded to the server

okay, but this is what Google said: Accept requests from these HTTP referers (web sites)
One URL or pattern per line. Example: *.example.com/*

It doesn't seem like the whole url should be required. Thanks for the map 3 catch... that was my 3rd attempt to install to get it to work.

using:
*.heavy-construction.us

means that there must be something at the beginning of the domain name followed by a dot

so it will only match:
www.heavy-construction.us

if you don't what to have to add the www to the address another line with:
heavy-construction.us
