Load an eCart without using an "Add to Cart" Button

Load an eCart without using an "Add to Cart" Button

I'm building a page to do a Dressage Show Entry. At the point that I want to calculate how much my entrant owes me.

I have all the information I need to do a checkout without any "Add to Cart'. I have name, address, entry info and these chargeables:

2 dressage tests (their names), the office fee, any late fee due.

This is all collected by a form that looks reassuringly like the form my Riders have been using for years and years.

I'd like to load up the cart to display this info (the 2 tests and the fees) without forcing the user to do 2 iterations of add to cart that are not needed.
Is there a way to populate the cart without using an Add Button? Can I automate this? I've been digging around the "Community" and lots of your info pages, but I can't find an answer to this.

Next step would be checkout. I probably could dispense with the cart completely and do my own display if I then could find a way to interface with the checkout API

There is an add to cart server behavior.

go to the server behaviors panel, click the plus button and select eCart -> add to cart -> Add to cart.
