you should post to the MAMP forum for help on configuring MAMP:

Well, I just did a little fooling around with the application and finally the Apache Server went green in MAMP, but my Database connections still don't work. They worked fine in MAC OS 10.6.8, but now with 10.9.2 it's not working. Anybody else have that issue?
"but my Database connections still don't work."
Please provide more details. In what way do the connections not work?
Are you getting an error message? if so what is the error?
Most Database connection issues are a result of the site not being defined properly, this tutorial has details on defining the site:

this tutorial has details on creating the connection:

Thanks for getting back to me. I believe I have everything set up correctly. Everything seemed to work fine until I upgraded to 10.9.2. I even redid the connections using your tutorial.
you need to provide more details please.
please explain exactly what you mean by "does not work"
please give your steps to create the connection, the result of creating the connection and a description of how that differs from what the expected result.
I cannot trouble shoot "does not work" any more than i can tell whats wrong with a car if you just say "it does not drive"
Please be specific and descriptive.
Jason thanks for all your help. Here's the screen shots of what I have in Dreamweaver CS6
If you copy the web URL:
http://localhost/Fauxhemian
into the address bar of your web browser, does it work?
is apache set to use port 80? or another port?
if it uses another port like 8080, you will need to add the port to the web URL:
http://localhost:8080/Fauxhemian
What version of Dreamweaver are you running?
Fantastic!!! My Apache port is 8888, I put that in the address and it worked in the browser. Updated the appropriate fields in Dreamweaver and it worked. I am in Dreamweaver CS6, but I have DW CC as well. I find it a lot easier to work in CS6 right now. I think they really made the interface a lot harder to get around in. Plus I get find where the Database window is in CC.
In DW CC< they removed the Database panel, it is an add on extension now that needs to be installed manually.
