ftp connection

New site underway.
Domain name is not yet purchased.
Setting up files. I can ftp in OK using server IP number, etc using Transmit.
But I can't set up Dreamweaver site settings; it won't connect, no matter what combination of paths I am using.
Attached are screen shot of Transmit which works, and similar set up in DW, which doesn't work. (I also tried /home/username/public_html in DW)
Since I need the connection in order to proceed with bindings, DA, etc. I am trying to figure it out.

Any insight most appreciated

if you use the web URL in a browser, will it connect to the site?

Sometimes you wont be able to make a connection till the domain name is registered.

This is clearly a DW problem and not a WA issue. Thanks for looking at it Jason. I'll just have to wait for the client to pay for domain, then proceed. I remember years ago, I had this issue and somehow, found a work around but too long ago to find the notes on how I did it. Weird that one ftp works and one doesn't.

Thanks again for looking.
