Cannot add variable in bindings panel

Cannot add variable in bindings panel

Hello all,

My problem is that when I go through the procedure to add the WA Cookie variable it does not appear in the Bindings panel window - the same window where recordsets from databases appear.

I go to my bindings panel, click on +, add a WA Cookie variable, fill out name, click ok. And nothing happens.

In fact, the only thing I can get to appear in the Binding panel is recordsets, none of the other variables won't appear either after trying to add. I do not know if introducing this extension did this or not (I always coded in the code window to add session variables, etc..) so I'm not sure if I am dealing with a Dreamweaver or WA problem, but hopefully, regardless, you've heard of this before and know the solution.

Thanks,

Rich

I have been doing some testing and I get the cookies to show in the bindings regardless of how I add them. As a test please try this, add a new cookie from the server behaviors, WA Cookies Toolkit > Set Cookie Value. See if this adds a bindings to the list for you.

If not there may be some sort of corruption that is occurring for you. Have you tried this on more than one page or in more than one site? It may be related to the site or page you are working with and testing on another may work.

If this does not work there may be an issue with the cache file of some type. You can clear out this cache file to have DW recreate it properly. Here is a link to a thread that list the locations to find this cache file and delete it.

Post 6 has the locations.

Thanks for help, but that didn't work...

However, on my other dev machine everything works great (with same site files). So it looks like some sort of Dreamweaver issue. I've already contacted Adobe Support. I'll also try reinstalling Dreamweaver.

I'll let you know what solution is so you will know in case anyone else reports this issue.

In the environment you got this working in are you using the same version of Dreamweaver? Is the other OS the same? Also do you have the same extensions installed in both?
