Dreamweaver nightmare - JavaScript errors

On Saturday I updated Data Bridge And Design Extender to the latest versions.

Today I uninstalled the WebAssist extensions in order to install the latest Data Bridge 118.

I had to urgently change a few pages. On opening the pages I had a host of JavaScript errors. After the update I proceeded to install the extensions in the sequence:

eCart 507
Design Extender 117
DataBridge 118

eCart and Design Extender installed using extension manager. Tried to install DataBridge with error "the extension package is invalid".

Opening Dreamweaver displays JavaScript errors and then crashes. Cleared the cache file numerous times. Nothing doing, Dreamweaver will not open at all.

Screenshots attached.

Any advice would be highly appreciative.

Mac Pro 3,3 Ghz, 12Gb ram, OS X 10.8.5, Dreamweaver CS6

for the extension package is invalid error.

make sure to save the mxp file to your computer.

when you click the download link, you may have the option to open the extension, select the option to save it instead, once the download completes, open the extension manager and click the install buttn, browse to the mxp file to startthe installation.

for the other errors:
reset the workspace layout:
go to Window -> Work Space layout -> Reset '<your layout name>'

and Delete the Dreamweaver Cache file from the users configuration folder:

Thanks

I do follow the download and extension installation as you suggest. I have also deleted the Dreamweaver cache file numerous times. I still get the extension package is invalid error whenever I try to install the extension.

I am not able to reset my workspace layout as Dreamweaver crashes each time I open it.

Any further assistance.

Much appreciated

try using a different web browser to download the MXP, the error saying the extension package is invalid means the download is corrupted.

try following step 12 of the Adobe troubleshooting guide to recreate the users configuration folder:

Really relieved

thanks Jason

Downloaded the latest DataBridge extension and installed successfully.

I open Dreamweaver and crashed again. Disabled the suspect and recent extension installed.

Once done, I could open Dreamweaver again.

Greatly appreciate your help. Without it I would be totally lost!

Installation question

Once I managed to open Dreamweaver again, I noticed the WebAssist installer pop-up window. It starts to download and install the DataBridge extension and then continues with the Design Extender download and installation.

Is this correct? Should it not first installed the Design Extender extension?

Thank you

it installs in alphabetical order, so Design Extender goes after Data Bridge. the order is not important though.
