bluesky footwear complete store not functional

bluesky footwear complete store not functional

I downloaded the Bluesky footwear starting point and complete files. I created a site with the complete files, and the drop down forms won't function, even after I activate the dynamic dropdown extension. There are no dynamic images in any of the pages. The connection to the database was successful. I thought there was nothing needed to have the sample completed store fully functional.
Where are the tutorials to set up the BlueSkyFootwear store using the starting point files, just like there is for bluesky music.
I found the tuts for creating dynamic product options.

When I click the shoe dropdowns, I get an error message that says I need to activate the extension, but they still won't work in firefox. Could there be other extensions needed for this site to functional?

This is an old and outdated version of our sample store. The new sample store is the Blue Sky Music sample. It is much more complete and up to date. If you have access to it you should definitely be using this version of the sample store.

The dynamic dropdowns section is meant more as a marketing inclusion than an example. If you are trying to create a dynamic dropdown set of select lists I would suggest starting in the help for Dynamic Dropdowns and looking at the example there. There is also a Getting Started Guide that is available for this on the support page here:

Please post any questions that you have about any of this functionality.

wasted time

Well that's just dandy. i wasted a few hours trying to figure out what the hell was wrong. Why do you have those files available. The reason I wanted to use those files, is because i want to learn to create relational databases, and create product size and color options.

Where are the step by step instructions for creating relational databases using dataassist, and implementing dynamic menu / list or radio buttons for product options?

In the eCart support page is the eCart getting started guide. In here look at the section toward the top on adding add to cart buttons to your pages. It covers adding in dynamic options for the add to cart server behavior. If you have a size select list in your add to cart form you can associate it with the item in the add to cart server behavior in the bindings tab. Here is a link to the eCart support page:

If you are interested in learning more about relational databases and how to utilize them from within Dreamweaver you should take a look at our database starter kit. Here is a link to the page:

This and other training materials can be found in the training section of the site.
