uiInitialize Error when launching DataAssist Pages

uiInitialize Error when launching DataAssist Pages

I've loaded the latest of all extensions and I now get an error when trying to launch DataAssist. The error is:"Error in uiInitialize: TypeError: XML String has no properties". I've got the latest of all extensions as of today (01/22/2014). I've tried removing the extensions and reinstalling them. I've done this many times, rebooting in between each one even. I've tried installing them in order: eCart, Free Tools, Design Extender, DataBridge. I've even cleared the .DAT file, removed all extensions, installed in them again individually and launched Dreamweaver after each install so it can complete before moving onto the next one. No luck.

The issue started out of the blue. I was using DataAssist, setting up the field names, and suddenly it could no longer see any database tables. I cancelled DataAssist, restarted Dreamweaver, and this has been the status ever since.

Before I uninstall Dreamweaver and reinstall entirely, any suggestions? I'm using Dreamweaver CC, Windows 7 x64.

try deleting the following file from the users configuration folder:

Configuration/shared/webassist/databridge/autosave.xml

Didn't work - ended up uninstalling all extensions, uinstalling Dreamweaver, deleting lingering directories, and reinstalling. Now it's all working.

Glad to hear you got it working.

If it happens again, we would like to determine the root cause. let us know and we can do a screen sharing session to investigate the problem.

Hi Jason
Just thought you would like to know a solution to this. I have had the same problem as Jake: "Error in uiInitialize: TypeError: XML String has no properties" and this post http://www.webassist.com/forums/posts.php?id=33338.

If you delete Configuration/shared/webassist/dataassist/autosave.xml the problem solves (note Dataassist folder not databridge)

Hope this helps

Thanks for that. I've rebuilt my user profile and reinstalled Dreamweaver and it's back to normal. I'll keep this fix in mind if it happens again, saves a few hours labor!
