HTML Formatting Issues

When I select say the first 3 words of a paragraph to make them say bold or say an h5 reference, it changes the whole paragraph and not what I selected?

Any ideas?

I am not able to reproduce the behavior you describe.

What browser are you using?

Try using Safari or Fire Fox.

Still having issues

Yes even in Chrome and Firefox there are issues, when I highlight say 3 words of a paragraph and make bold, the whole paragraph becomes bold.

try updating the CKEditor files

in the webassist/ folder, rename the ckeditor folder to ckeditor_bak

On this page:
download

click the button to launch CK Builder. Select to use the Full Preset, and the Kama Skin.

Copy the downloaded CKEditor folder to the webassist folder in your site.

from the ckeditor_back folder, copy the following three files:
ckeditor.php
ckeditor-php4.php
ckeditor-php5.php

and paste them in the new ckeditor folder.

you will need to clear the browsers cache to see the updates take effect.

Try creating a blank page and adding HTML editor to it, Does the blank page have the problem?

If you cant reproduce the problem on the blank page, there will be some javascript or CSS in your site design that is causing the conflict. troubleshoot the cause by slowly removing scripts and css from the page and trying again till you find the script or css causing the conflict.

Visit the CKEditor demo page here:
http://ckeditor.com/demo

can you reproduce the problem on that page?

Yes there is issue there too

Yes if you go to that demo page and highlight the first word Armstrong and select to make it an h2 reference, the whole paragraph
becomes h2.

If you can reproduce using the CKEditor demo site, than it is a bug in CKEditor and will need to be fixed by them.
