DataAssist Wizard continually stuck and crashes

I am so frustrated currently. I am can not figure out any reason that DataAssist keeps locking but every time I try to run the "DataAssist Pages" wizard it gets to the first screen and then locks and becomes unresponsive. I have tried to use the application type "New From Blank" ut then when I go to create the pages it shows no available columns in the database (which are shown in the first screen). IF I select an application type (trying to use Product Administration) then it always locks up. When your products work they are great... when they don't it is so frustrating. Please help. Thank you.

I had been using a remote server and read that using a local DB may help. I tried this and although I got further it still crashed...

I will be available at 207.266.4360 now until 1:30 if it is possible to get a call back during that time.

I can be available Monday (1/6) or Tuesday (1/7) at 10:00 AM EST at the same number. Does either of these days work? Thank you.

Disabling preview solved this problem for me.WebAssist/Preferences/Preview Disable Preview.

I was having the same problem with MAC using Data Assist and disabling preview solved this crash for me too!

This could be a bit of a pain though as I find the preview useful in the new version of eCart as Im still getting used to it

In eCart 6 and Data Bridge 1.1.7 and above we have added an option to change the preview engine. if you are experiencing problems with the default preview engine, open the WebAssist preferences panel, go to the preview section and try changing the preview engine to use one of the other options.

even with the preview disabled, the preview is still available. it will open in a browser window if you click the place holder.

I actually find this more helpful since it allows the wizard to work a little faster by not having to regenerate the preview, and viewing in the browser is a real size preview rather than the small snapshot
