DataAssist Hangs

I've been a long time customer of WebAssist and as of late have been very disappointed with your product. I won nearly every extension and I purchase them as they are supposed to make my life simple, but have to say that very nearly every time I use them I have issues. I still have a issue that with Pro Google Maps which is blamed on my server, even that the folder has read/write access am being told it doesn't. Now when creating data pages the extension just hangs. I've installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, renamed the configuration folder and started the whole process all over again, hours later I've uninstalled and installed an older version of DataAssist to get the job done. I even installed on a different computer, same problem. I know that more than likely we will go back and forth here for days and "maybe" get a resolution. Must say I have lost faith in your ability to provide a product that works any more.

Try Disabling the preview.

Go to WebAssist -> Preferences

In the Preview section, check the Disable preview option.

The Preview will still be available if you click the Preview place holder in the wizard, that will open the preview in a browser.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but i have the same issue. started today for no apparent reason. Disabling preview seems to work. I tried deleting cache, renamed the config folder, de-installed other stuff , with no success. Whats up with that ?

This appears to be an issue with the latest version of IE causing the preview to crash in some cases... seems to only happen in previous versions of Dreamweaver. If you post back with your phone number in a private message I'll give you call and make sure it gets resolved.

I don't know if my comment was deleted because the administrators didn't like someone mentioning having the same problem or because I suggested a possible cause other than scapegoating IE, but you encourage people not to use this forum for helping other people or giving feedback when you delete posts so casually.

We literally never delete any posts... so maybe you posted to a different thread? All of your posts will be listed in your account page. Feel free to post it again here if you want.

In terms of this problem, we were able to find a new executable for the preview that doesn't rely on IE and it appears to be working in a BETA. We will include it in a free dot release soon to fix this issue.

For now people should probably just disable preview if they are having this problem and we will have a more permanent solution available soon.
