Intellectual Property Delivery

I see how to use eCart to deliver hard goods (shoes, sweaters, DVDs, hardcover books, etc). What about the delivery of intellectual property via downloads?

Network Solutions wants us to setup a folder on our ftp site and password protect the thing. That way, when someone buys the product, we give them the link to the folder and provide the password to the folder.

Does eCart have a better solution or is that how it is standardly done?

the folder with the downloadable files should be under the Site Root, normally you need a dedicated hosting plan for this,

seer the download center tutorial:

SecurityAssist119.mxp and WADataAssist208.mxp are worthless with Dw 13.2?

I'm not seeing a .zxp version of these.

What am I missing?

Thnx

The Stand Alone Extensions are not compatible with DW CC.

While DW CS 6 was still available, the stand alone extensions where replaced with Data Bridge.

Data Bridge is a consolidation of the Data Driven extensions we offer, and also includes an upgraded version of Data Assist.

to Use Data Assist and Security Assist in DW CC, you will need to upgrade to Data Bridge. Otherwise, continue using them in the previous version of Dreamweaver.

WOW! $200 just to get those 2 extensions which were part of the Dynamic Suite. That means I have to buy a bunch of stuff I have no need for.

Not to be rude, but that just doesn't make sense.

The upgrade includes a new version of Data Assist and a new version of Security Assist.

Had Data Assist 3 been released as a stand alone extension, the upgrade price from V2 to V3 would have been $149.99. The Upgrade price for the stand alone version of Security Assist From V1 to V2 would have been $75.99.

You save $25 on the upgrade to Data Bridge.

In Data Assist 3, there is tighter integration from within the wizard with the other tools like HTML Editor and File Upload. Wile configuring the Data Assist Wizard, you can Specify fields to be File Fields, and the upload behavior is automatically added to the insert and update pages. HTNL Editor can also be added directly in the wizard. those are just a few of the upgrades in Data Bridge.

if you don't wish to upgrade, you can continue using the previous extensions in the previous version of Dreamweaver.

FYI: I've done the Dw CS6 install and enabled the Dynamic Suite extensions. Soon after Dw CS6 launches Web Assist Memento launches and I get the Mac "spinning beach ball of death" and Dw crashes.

reset the workspace layout:
go to Window -> Work Space layout -> Reset '<your layout name>'

and Delete the Dreamweaver Cache file from the users configuration folder:
