Processed in $ instead of £

I have almost completed my first eCart site!!!

One thing that I have noticed is that my first test purchase has gone through using $ rather than £. I have ensured that £ was selected in the cart Object.

Secondly, we are using Paypal standard at the moment, however I was expecting that after making a payment on Paypal that I would get returned to either checkout_failiure.php or checkout_success.php however I stayed on the PayPal "Thanks for your order, You just completed your payment." page.

on the confirm page is a collection of hidden form elements that pass details to paypal. one of them is used to set the currency, change the value to GBP instead of USD.

another of them is used to set the return page, set the value of that element to the full address for your success page.

Thanks Jason!

I found the currency hidden form element.

Which one is the success and failed redirect please?

paypal return does not happen on success or failure. paypal standard does not process the transaction in real time, when the user is returned to your site, the transaction is paced in a queue to be processed on a first come first served basis.

there should be a hidden element named "return" that is used to return the user to your site.

Thanks again Jason!

Is there a way to get the cart to clear when you get returned to the site. Similar to the Clear Cart button, but when the page loads?

add the following code to the return page after the closing </html> tag to destroy the session:

<?php
// Initialize the session.
// If you are using session_name("something"), don't forget it now!
@session_start();

// Unset all of the session variables.
$_SESSION = array();

// If it's desired to kill the session, also delete the session cookie.
// Note: This will destroy the session, and not just the session data!
if (ini_get("session.use_cookies")) {
$params = session_get_cookie_params();
@setcookie(session_name(), '', time() - 42000,
$params["path"], $params["domain"],
$params["secure"], $params["httponly"]
);
}

// Finally, destroy the session.
@session_destroy();
@session_regenerate_id();
?>
