Apply template to page removes code outside of html tag

Apply template to page removes code outside of html tag

Pages that I create in Data Bridge require template to be applied after creation of the pages. I have noticed a new problem when I do this in that when the template is applied, all content outside of the HTML tag is removed.

The code that would be removed in template application is:

<?php require_once("../webassist/form_validations/wavt_validatedform_php.php"); ?>
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">

I am not worried about lines 2 and 3, they appear in the applied template, but line 1 appears unique to the page.

What is the correct way to handle this? Should I add this code to the template or is there a way to replace it after application of the template removes it?

Any input is appreciated,

Gary E

Do you have server side code applied to the template? This is a template limitation where you can either add server behaviors like recordsets to the individual pages, or to the template, but not both. To get around this limitation, Convert your template to a theme using Framework builder and use themes instead.

See the Framework builder getting started guide for details on using themes:

Just found that last night

Mistake on my part. I have another active ticket with theme problems that appears to be the same where I was not using either the Theme-It or Plug-Ins as intended.

Anyone who catches this post after me, check the training videos for Theme-It; they do work.

For theme-it? do you mean Framework builder themes?

Framework Builder themes is what I meant

The few files that I have built using Framework Builder and not using Modify-Apply Template to Page appear to be working as expected. It is looking like I have not been using the themes or plug ins as they are intended to be applied.

Thanks for assistance with this.
