"Find Address" and "Confirm Password"

We are about to begin work on quite a large eCommerce website and 1 of the requests we've received in the brief is that there should be a "Find Address" option allowing users to enter their postal code (we are in the UK) in order to view a list of matching addresses that they can then select from.

Is this something that's available in eCart or would we have to source this, I assume database, elsewhere? Would appreciate advice on acheiving that.

Also, most websites ask users to create a password when registering on a website and then also asking them to re-enter the password which is then compared to the first entry - if both are the same then a confirmation is shown or it, if they are not, a declined message appears. Is this something WebAssist offer in an extension?

Thank you.

using data assist search, you could implement a search of the zip codes in the users database and return matching results.

The security assist wizard creates pages that have the password confirmation in place.

All postcodes?

Do you know if there is a universal UK postcode / address database available? We basically want new users to be able to enter a postcode and then to select their address from the list of matching results however this needs to be pretty up-to-date so I'm assuming eCommerce websites either purchase this database from somewhere or perhaps it's served as a feed?

Thank you for the information on password confirmation. It looks like we need to purchase some new WebAssist extensions. :o)

Another request we've had is that once customers have placed an order, and where this order is stored to database, we need a facility that allows customers to duplicate the order, or parts of the order, as a new order. Is that easily acheived?

Much appreciated.

I'm not aware of a database that is available for this, though that doesn't mean one doesn't exist.

the reordering facility basically starts with a creating an order history, we have a tutorial for that in our tutorials section

on the order details page, you can add a reorder button, and use the eCart add to cart from recordset server behavior to populate the cart using the order details recordset.
