Can not login to admin area

Can not login to admin area

Hello, I have just setup "Power Messenger" and I was having an issue logging in as a user. You sent me the updated users_login.php file and I was able to gain access.

However, I'm not able to gain access to the Admin area. When I input the login credentials I get an error "That user name or password is not correct. Please try again." I went to the "pm_settings" table in the database to confirm that I'm using the correct input information and it is correct, however I'm still unable to gain access to the Admin area.

Any thoughts?

For some reason, your host is not allowing a page named index.php to post a form.

The admin login form is on an index page. not sure why the host is blocking the index page from posting, but I copied the index page as login.php and forced the index.php page to redirect to login to get the login working.

Jason, I have root access on this server if there is something I need to change I can do that. Or should I just leave it alone for now? Anyway, thank you for your help once again.

I have no idea what on the server is causing it to that a page named index.php cannot post form information. That you would need to work out with the host.

to work around the problem though, i renamed the page login.php.
