Integrating Powermessenger into an existing custom built CMS administration log in.

my custom application is secured using Security assisit. Would it be straightforward enough to integrate Powermessenger into the site utililising the existing admin user table? The CMS administration is currently secured with access levels using the webaassit powerCMS user table.

Hi, I integrated Power Messenger completely into my existing website. and used my own user table. I also did a lot of modifications as well after that.

The way I integrated my own user table was to start with using the Dreamweaver FIND/REPLACE function for sitewide.....so all I did was replace the connection script, usertable and the security level. And it was all done :)

Thanks for the advice Christopher - Did you have an existing admin, I'm having issues integrating security, I think PowerM uses an earlier Security assist version and I can't seem to get over this issue. Any one else have ideas about integrating PM with say a powerCMS without having a dual login?

If you use the same user name and password combination when installing power messenger as when installing power CMS, logging into PCMS will also log you into Power Messenger.

Thanks Jason, well I'm not actually using powerCMS I just used the admin table structure, it's important for me to integrate PowerMessenger into my existing CMS and have removed the original security from the PowerMessenger install before rebuilding it with Security Assist.

After digging around a bit more the problem I have is that I'm losing the session data when linking to pages in a different folder, everything seems fine on my localhost WAMP setup, but not on the live server. I realise this might not be an issue related to the WA products, but wondered if you had any ideas as to how this is happening?

most likely a server setting issue with session management, probably the session.save_path setting in the php.ini file.

use the session test file from the following thread:

if the test fails, you will need to contact the host to have them correct the problem.
