Access Rules using Groups question

Access Rules using Groups question

Just a quick one on this. I had some pages that I was sure were all working, but noticed that some actually weren't. Not sure what happened. Anyway..

I've fixed it now, but wanted to make sure I was doing it correctly.

Basically I have a table with users, with various User_Levels e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4 etc

So for example, I have a Group with Members 1 and 2.

I noticed that my rule didn't work which was set to Allow if <?php echo $row_SecurityAssisttradeusers['User_Level']; ?> was in the group.

Looks like that should have been set to allow if <?php echo $_SESSION['User_Level']; ?>

Is that correct?

Plus I was a little confused by what was available to select from the Condition Value lightning bolt. Pages with the SecurityAssisttradeusers query added have those fields available. But I pasted in the <?php echo $_SESSION['User_Level']; ?> code. Should I have added something in the header to reference the Session so that it is available in the Rules manager?

Yes, you should use the session that is created by the login page.

If the Session is not in the bindings panel, you can add it by clicking the plusa button on the bindings panel, selecting Session Variable and naming it User_Level, this should crate the binding, if not, you may need to use the OS File explorer, browse to the site and delete the _notes folder.
