Nothing works

Please! Give me a guide that you can follow for Power CMS. The manual is not correct. Or is not complete. And messages in Dreamweaver is not true. I get quite dizzy. Nothing works. When I changed the settings in the Update file in the admin folder - disappears all the text in the CMS system in the browser window. But the text is still there.

I try to change the tools to display in cms system. And I want to give cms system access to the styles that I used on the site.

If I do nothing at all - everything works perfectly after the installation of the CMS system. But as soon as I change something, it happens strange things.

you cant use HTML Editor to edit the instance that is used in Power CMS.

to add styles to Power CMS, you need to edit the webassist/ckediedit/style_lists/stylelist1.js file

to change the toolbar, you need to open the content area and change either the admin toolbar or live edit toolbar selection.

to change the toolbar items that are available for each toolbar group, you would need to edit the database table that controls them. see this post for details:

Okay! So, what do I do now? I bought a program that claimed to be able to help me with a number of tasks ...

I get confused. In the HTML editor, you can press the edit button. Can you choose it or not? Is the button there or not? Why is there the opportunity when it does not work? This is a rather obvious problem that I think should have been resolved long ago.

The HTML Editor tool can be used to add an HTML Editor instance to pages that you create.

but it should not be used to edit the HTML Editor instance that is added to Power CMS.

THE HTML Editor instances that are added to Power CMS are highly customized, and can not be edited using HTML Editor.

Thanks Jason for your reply. Did you read my personal messages?

The reason I use PowerCMS from WebAssist is that I can customize it to the client's level of knowledge so that they do not become confused about all the opportunities available.

Mostly I just want to give the customer the option to choose a limited number of tools. I also do not want the customer to be able to change font and size as it affects the design. I just want the customer to use the styles included in the design.

I can do this with the help of Power CMS. If I wanted that the client had access to all the tools - I might as well build the site in WordPress, or something similar.

Although the possibility still exist to change toolbar with the new version of PowerCMS that I now have installed - it is not painless.

I do not understand why you have not built a visual editing systems (back-line) for this instead of going into the database tables and mess. If I make the slightest mistake, I do not know what it was and how I should get back what was there before.

Although there are fancier symbols in edit mode in the new version of PowerCMS, so it feels like it got worse.

The reason that I use you as a plug-in provider is that you offer a visual way to make websites. I can understand that not everything can be done visually, but in this case it should not be a problem.

I saw the private message, but honestly was not sure what you where asking for. The right person to talk to about what? If it's a support related issue, the right person to talk to is me.

Power CMS Has the option for you to set the toolbar that will be used for admins so that you can limit the buttons that are available.

This is done on a content area by content area basis, since you may want to have different buttons available for different content areas. This is a feature that many people had requested.

At this time, there is a not a way to configure the toolbars other than editing the database. I have added a feature request to have this considered for a future upgrade.

back up the database tables before making any changes, so that if you make a mistake, you can revert to the previous version.

I would like to see the text in the right typography, which I chose in the styles in the editor. Is this still possible?

I want to see how the current style looks directly into the editor.

If I understand correctly, I have to type in every style and corresponding formatting in 'stylelist.js'. You can not link to a css file anymore? How do I do if I have different formats in different resolutions / media.
