Show Region deletes everything after

I'm trying to apply the show region behavior to a user menu in the header to show the sign in link if the member is not signed in and show the user menu if the user is logged in.
When I apply the show region behavior, it removes the entire page of everything after the show region.

make sure you are applying the show region in design view, select the content to show only when a user is logged-in in design view, then add the show region behavior.

I tried it in design view only and it's doing the same thing. Everything below the Show Region is removed as well.

OK, looks like it is working now. This line was outside the html tags <?php require_once( "../webassist/security_assist/helper_php.php" ); ?>
It wouldn't work like that in the template.
