what credit cards are excepted for paypal website payment pro in the UK using ecart.

Could someone tell me what credit cards are excepted for the website payment pro for the UK. Paypal is giving me conflicting advice, some documentation says the American Express is excepted and some say not. For those using website payment pro in the UK using the latest ecart could you let me know what Credit cards are excepted and that you have got working for you.

Many thanks

according to this page
https://cms.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=developer/e_howto_api_WPWebsitePaymentsPro

in the Website Payments Pro Regional Differences section, they have a table showing the accepted credit cards for Canada, United States and UK.

accepted cards for the united kingdom are:
Visa, including Visa Electron and Visa Debit
MasterCard
Maestro, including Switch

American Express is only accepted in the US.

I would contact Paypal Support to be sure about what is accepted, it may differ between the service types, Direct Payments may support different card than PayPal Standard, for example.

Dear Jason,
Thank you. I did contact technical support and did get a (I hope) a definitive answer from them. I am posting it hear in-case anyone else is looking for the answer. Visa and Mastercard are the only two that are excepted. Maestro/Switch require 3D Secure authentication and is only valid for purchases made in GBP. Here is the link to this information from paypal.
