How can I restrict the length of the text entered by the user, I want it to be 500 characters maximum.

I have a text field in the database tht we need to restrict to 500 characters, 255 is too small. How can I do this with HTML Editor?

If the field is defined in the database as varchar, you will need to change that field to text instead, varchar is limited to 255 characters maximum. the text data type can take more characters.

I know that, 255 is too small so I can't use a varchar field. The field is define as Text which means it could be huge. I need to restrict that, how do I do it?

use server validation to validate the HTML Editor instance, select the Entry Length validation and set the max length to 500
