I've read some topics about this error, tried rebuilding the site definition but it doesn't work, I don't know....

I use Dreamweaver CS6
WIn 8 64bit

the error happens if the Testing server section of the Site Definition is not set correctly.

Edit the site definition, and goto the Servers section.

Edit the server setting that has the texting option checked.

Make sure that the Web URL is correct for the site.

If you use an FTP connection to the testing server, you may need to set the root directory to point to the root of your site.

The testing server was defined ok. But what I didn't noticed was that the database connection file wasn't copied to the testing server, after I copied the database connection file to the server everything was allright. Sorry for taking your time (it was early in the morning for me) and thanks for putting me on the right trail.

Maybe another question, but I hope you can give an answer:

I create a site on my own server for a good friend of my with powercms. So at least I have some control of what version of php will be running at it. But I 've read that you guys are updating Databridge and Design Extender for work with mysqli. If so will the powercms be able to be updated to the version that uses mysqli in the near future?

PLease keep up the good work and thanks for your answer!

Yes, when we update design Extender to use mySQLi, you will be able to upgrade existing Power CMS installs that where originally created with Design Extender to use mySQLi as well.

Same Problem

I'm getting the same error message. I've double- and triple-checked my server settings, both remote and testing. Everything appears to be correct. I can connect to each just fine, but I get that error every time. I've tested the mysql connection in DW and it connects fine. I'm not sure what to do.

I'm using DW CS6 Mac, PowerCMS Builder, and connecting to godaddy.com (ugh, not by my choice)

In the Settings for the testing server, make sure that you have the correct WebURL Entered.

in some cases, you may need to specify a site root as well.

The FTP or Database connection can still be made if these settings are not correct, but if the Web URL does not match to the same location that the FTP is connecting to, you will get that error.

Thanks, Jason. I checked again, and I'm sure the settings are correct. I've attached a screen shot to show you. Maybe there's something I'm missing?

UPDATE: Never mind. I did some poking around and discovered that I'm using PowerCMS Builder 1.0.1, not compatible with CS6. I upgraded to Design Extender, and now all is well. Seems to be working.
