ecart 5 getting error ecart only available .php

i recently installed ecart 5 and created a .php file but when i click the add ecart object button or any other buttons, i get error "ecart is only available .php files in PHP websites. I am using Dreamweaver CS3

before using eCart, you need to create a Dynamic Site Definition in Dreamweaver.

See the following tutorial for details on defining a dynamic site in Dreamweaver:

Once you have defined a dynamic site, create a new file with the .php extension and save it to the Dreamweaver site.

you will then be able to add eCart to the site pages.
