Ecart Overwrites Order

Ecart Overwrites Order

Using DW6, eCart5, PayPal Express. The whole order process seems to be working fine - I can place the order, PayPal runs the transaction and approves, but for some reason, when the order is entered in the database, instead of creating a new record for each order, eCart keeps overwriting the last record in the database (Order number 5, in this case). This occurs even if I change some of the order details - different buyer name, for example.

The repetition occurs if I am using the same computer to run test transactions.

If I move to a different computer, a new order is created.

Not a problem as long as my customers aren't using the same computer as one another, but my concern is that if a customer returns to my site to purchase a second item, I will lose the details of the first transaction and may not realize I have a new order.

add the following code to the checkout success page after the closing </html> tag:

php:
<?php

// Initialize the session.
// If you are using session_name("something"), don't forget it now!
@session_start();

// Unset all of the session variables.
$_SESSION = array();

// If it's desired to kill the session, also delete the session cookie.
// Note: This will destroy the session, and not just the session data!
if (ini_get("session.use_cookies")) {

$params session_get_cookie_params();
    @
setcookie(session_name(), ''time() - 42000,

$params["path"], $params["domain"],

$params["secure"], $params["httponly"]
    );
}

// Finally, destroy the session.
@session_destroy();
@
session_regenerate_id();
?>

Unset only cart session and not ALL sessions

While previous solution works, it generates an issue with logged users.
When a loggedin user completes an order, by using session_destroy(); we kill the logged in session too so he needs to login again.

What I tried and it works I unset the session being created when we configure the Store Cart Summary in Database.
So in my success page (when order has been complete) I just add unset($_SESSION['latestPlacedOrderSessionName']); and this avoids any orders overwrites, but without killing all sessions

Another solution would be to reset the session variables necessary for the logged in user like:

<?php
// Initialize the session.
// If you are using session_name("something"), don't forget it now!
@session_start();

$userID = $_SESSION['UserID'];

// Unset all of the session variables.
$_SESSION = array();

// If it's desired to kill the session, also delete the session cookie.
// Note: This will destroy the session, and not just the session data!
if (ini_get("session.use_cookies")) {
$params = session_get_cookie_params();
@setcookie(session_name(), '', time() - 42000,
$params["path"], $params["domain"],
$params["secure"], $params["httponly"]
);
}

// Finally, destroy the session.
@session_destroy();
@session_regenerate_id();

$_SESSION['UserID'] = $userID;
?>
