Sending an Email from a text link on the detail page

Hi Guys, sorry for all of the tech questions lately.

I know that this is going to be simple but simple is my middle name recently so here goes.

I have a detail page that lists a users business details. What I would like to do is add a text link at the bottom of the details page so that any visitor can click the link and this will generate an email that report's that specific business for inappropriate content.

If anyone can point me in the right direction to accomplish this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

open the bindings panel, click the plus button and select URL Variable, name the new URL variable "report"

look at the address bar when you visit the details page, it will contain a url variable with the ID for the record being loaded, make note of the URL variable name. for example:

create the link on the details page, point it back to the same details page and include the report url variable, and include the original ID url variable:
<a href="details.php?id=<?php echo(isset($_GET['id'])?$_GET['id']:""); ?>&report=true">Report</a>

add the Universal Email behavior, for the trigger, click the lightning bolt icon and select the report URL binding.

for the Body, deselect the option to create a file to manage the email, and click the DW Edit button. In the page that opens, you can access the bindings panel to use the details page recordset bindings to populate the email body.

Hi Jason,

I have tried to follow what you wrote and when I click on the link I get returned to the details page with it saying "this record has been moved"

I have attached my details page.

Regards always

the code i gave was for example purposes only, not intended for you to use verbatum

like i said, when you open the detail page in the browser, make note of the URL Parameter that is used to pass the id,

i gave an example for the URL variable named "id"

looking at the code on your page, the URL variable is named UserID, so the code for the link needs to be:

<a href="detail.php?UserID=<?php echo(isset($_GET['UserID'])?$_GET['UserID']:""); ?>&report=true">Report content</a></div>
