How can I search within email addresses in a database?

How can I search within email addresses in a database?

For example, how can I search for all gmail addresses? Searching "@gmail" shows no results even with many in the database.

In the Data Assist Search behavior, set the criteria for the email address search to use Ends With

I tried that and it still wasn't working. Then I realized that the results page was validating for email address formatting. I removed the validation and now it works with includes too.
