Powermessenger database errors

We wanted to modify the registration form, and tried taking out the Phone, Fax, and Country columns in our database. After fighting with it for a couple of days, we gave up, and though it didn't change our form at all, since there was no data in any of those three columns, we thought everything was still fine. However, now when we try to send out a newsletter to our mailing list we get a long error message. I tried putting all three columns back in, set them up in the same order, and with the same settings...but still we get the error message and the emails will not send.

Can you help us fix this?

I'll need to troubleshoot directly, see the private message section.

Hi Jason,
I've given your requested info in the private message.

Again, thanks for taking a look at this.

On trying to submit a registration, I get the following error:

Unknown column 'UserAddress2' in 'field list'

the line that is referenced in the error, is trying to perform a search, and one of the columns included in the search is the UserAddress2 column. the missing UserAddress2 column is most likely the cause of the error.

Thanks Jason, that seems to have fixed the problem with the email sending...we were able to send it. I will say to anyone else that experiences this kind of problem, that when you do fix it, make a copy of the mailing and send it from the copy. We sent from the original mailing and it sent the mailing five times to everyone on the list...apparently it stored the failed attempts in a cue. As soon as we hit the button, the audience number jumped from 522 to 4701...random number but I think it is because I hit stop as soon as I could, but not fast enough to stop it from sending it multiple times to about 300 people on the list.

Now the only issue we have is that since the trouble with the database, we are not receiving the tracking information on how many of the emails are opened. We knew that some people did open them, because we got a couple of unsubscribes (probably weren't happy about the multiple copies). So Jason, if you can help us fix that I think we will be all set and I won't touch the database again--I promise!!

looking at your mailing history, it is only not showing tracking info for the problem mailing, the first mailing in the history list shows the tracking info.

Only the second in the list does not show the tracing info, this is probably because of the SQL issues encountered.

Hi Jason, thanks. You were a great help. I know it sounds weird, but for the first hour after we sent the problem email out, we were not getting reports, though we knew right away that people were opening them. Then late last night I checked one more time and saw that yes, it was giving us reports. No idea why it delayed, I am just happy it is working and I do appreciate your help on this. It looks like we are back on track. If WA ever revises the program to make it more customizable in terms of what fields we want, please let me know. We would love to cut our registration fields down to just first and last name, email address, maybe snail mail address, and we don't really need them to set a password at all, we do not have a place for them to log in. All we need is for people to register for electronic newsletters and occasional snail mail.

Thanks again!
